My Katie Laine

My dear sweet Katie Laine is growing up so fast. She turned six months old on the 26^th of February. Her first tooth finally broke through the gum Monday and yesterday she said her first word, DADA! The look on Ron’s face was priceless when he hear her.  Katie had her 6 month check-up last week and my BIG little girl now weighs 16lbs 8oz (75^th percentile) and is 28 inches long (off the growth chart). I can’t believe she is off the chart in height. She is definitely taking after her daddy in height.

2. I love to paint even though I majored in photography in college.

3. I have trust issues. I don’t trust people easily, especially when it comes to my children.

4. My favorite colors are blue & green.

5. I have always wanted a Great Dane. Every time I see one on TV, I point it out to my husband, who pretends he didn’t see it.

6. My laundry room is bright bubble gum pink. I hate doing laundry, so I thought if I made the room a cheerful color; it would make laundry more fun.

7. The front door to my house is Yellow. We live in the suburbs of Brighton and the artist in me wanted to be different than everyone else.

8. My best friend is a guy, who now lives in Florida and I miss him.

9. I have my own zoo. We have 4 ball pythons, 2 Brazilian rainbow boas, 1Colombian redtail boa, and 1 corn snake, 3 leopard geckos, 2 cats, a beagle and a tarantula. I also know that makes me very weird.

10. My Aunt Carolyn and Uncle “Bear” Roy are more like parents to me than my real parents.

11. I love books. All books I'm not picky.

12. I love road trips. Ron and I were known for our spontaneous road trips (before children). We loved traveling to Michigan to surprise his Grandmother. No one would know we were coming until we were there. Flying is okay, but you get to so much more if you drive.

13. I tend to relate with people who are a lot older or a lot younger than me.

14. I am addicted to Facebook, sad but true.

15. I love my life. It’s nowhere near perfect but it’s mine.

January and February 2011

January 2011
We spent most of January sick. It started with Mackenzie getting a cold. Then Katie had a cough. Then I had a sinus infection. Then Ron was sick with a sinus infection. It felt like this curd was going to stay around forever, but lucky for us by the end of the month everyone was better.

We did however get to play in the snow for a little bit, during January.



February 2011

February was so much fun with snow, Valentine’s Day, trips to the Pink Palace and the zoo. Valentine’s is not a big deal in the Davis house but we do recognize it has a day to have some fun. This year, the girls woke to find valentine’s waiting for them on the counter. Mackenzie was so excited.
