2010, Where Did It Go?

January – I was sick. I thought I had the flu, but come to find out I was pregnant. I attended my first U of M basketball game, 4 years after I graduated.
February – It was confirmed that I was definitely pregnant, due in September. Joell and I volunteered at the American Heart Association Ball. I had the privilege of photographing the event and Joell was my assistant. We had a great time. Joell and I also took a day trip to Nashville to attend the Chords of Hope – Band against MS concert. We also went to the Capital and to the Parthenon.
March –Nausea. Lots and Lots of Nausea. We started work on the upstairs again, a project that was 6 years in the making.
April – We found out we were having another girl. Doctor ordered monthly ultrasounds, due to the complications I had when I was pregnant with Mackenzie. Ron and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary. Lots more nausea.
May – May Day Flood. Memphis in May BBQ Festival, our Team won 3rd place in seafood. I experienced the worst sunburn I have ever had in my life. (2 hours in the sun without sunscreen, OUCH!) Even more nausea.
June – Nausea…Nausea and even more nausea. House bounded because of record heat.
July – The upstairs was finally completed. Mackenzie had her teeth cleaned for the first time. If you can believe it, LOTS more nausea, even with a prescription of Zofran.
August – My family and friends gave me a baby shower. Mackenzie moved into her new room. Ron turned 32. Katie Laine Davis made her grand depute August 26 at 8:08am, weighing 9lbs 15 oz and 21 inches long.
September – I turned 32. My best friend Sam came home for a visit.
October – Mackenzie turned 4. Deer season opened, so the saying “We interrupt this marriage for Hunting Season” Never rang more true.
November – Mackenzie and I attended the Veteran's Day Parade. Thanksgiving, We celebrated with a stomach bug.
December – LOTS of holiday activities.
So that was a rough recap of 2010. We lived a very boring life due to the nausea, heat and having a new born baby, but 2011 we are going to change that.

Happy 2010!

The Davis Family brought in the New Year in our pajamas. We had a great dinner, with perfect brownies for dessert ( I love my Perfect Brownie Pan). We did fireworks and watched the ball drop in NY, and Mackenzie went off to la la land since she was a tired, grumpy girl. Ron and I stayed up and watched a movie and rung in 2010 with a kiss and a toast. It was a wonderful night at home. I hope everyone has a bright and happy 2010.

One of my many resolutions is to keep up with the blog. I hope to at least post a photo or something every week.

Another Trip to the Zoo

…this time with Daddy. Ron has been pretty busy on the weekends here lately so yesterday he took a break and went to the zoo with us. Mackenzie was really excited. When we asked her what she wanted to see at the zoo she said “giraffes, rhinos, and tigers”. So we made sure to see the giraffes, rhinos and tigers.
